Tomi Diane Riley
Tomi Riley serves as Vice President of Federal Advocates and leads the Firm’s West Coast office. A native of California, she brings to the firm more than 20 years of government and community relations experience in both the public and private sector. Prior to joining the firm, Tomi held a number of senior positions including Director, Bay Area Government Relations for the California Alliance for Jobs, a labor-management organization focused on water and transportation project funding as well as affordable housing. She was Vice President in California for The PBN Company, a strategic communications firm and later started her own public affairs firm, bringing on three partners to form StrategiComm, LLC where she was the Managing Partner.
Tomi’s experience includes nearly a decade in the oil industry working in various public affairs positions on the West Coast for Texaco and Shell. She also worked in the California State Assembly and served as senior staff for state and local elected officials. Through these experiences she became an effective advocate, crisis communications strategist and has been credited with developing and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders. Tomi is a former President of the East Bay Leadership Council, Board member of the East Bay Economic Development Alliance and served for seven years as an elected Contra Costa Community College Trustee. She holds a degree in political science with an emphasis on public administration from San Jose State University.
