Ben is the Legislative Counsel for the firm covering tax & gaming, environmental, and federal procurement issues for clients. Prior to joining Federal Advocates in 2017, Odendahl was a legislative assistant on the State Government Affairs team for Charter Communications. In that role, he conducted legislative research at both the federal and state level and managed the ethical and lobbying compliance for the company’s in-house lobbyists across their forty-one-state footprint. While at Charter, Ben was a member of the government affairs team that successfully guided the company’s $71 billion acquisition of Time Warner Cable and BrightHouse Networks through the various state and local level regulatory approval processes.
Ben gained significant congressional experience as a Law & Policy Fellow for Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL). While on Rep. Sewell’s staff, Ben covered a range of issues including, civil rights, trade, and financial services. He played a vital role in supporting the Congresswoman’s work on the Financial Services Committee by keeping her updating on pending legislation and hearings in the committee. He is licensed to practice in the State of Alabama.
